FARGO, N.D. - North Dakota State University and the University of Colorado have signed a one-game contract for the 2024 football season opener, the schools announced today.
Â
The teams will play Saturday, Aug. 31, at Folsom Field in Boulder. It will be NDSU's first game with Colorado and second against a Pac-12 opponent. The Bison play at Oregon on Sept. 5, 2020.
Â
Colorado, entering its sixth year as a member of the Pac-12, is coming off a 4-8 season. The Buffaloes are seeking their first bowl game appearance since 2007.
Â
"We are excited to add another regional FBS opponent," said NDSU athletic director
Matt Larsen. "This is a game we know our fans and many NDSU alumni in the area will be looking forward to."
Â
NDSU also signed a one-game contract with Butler to open the 2019 season. The first meeting between the two schools will be Saturday, Aug. 31, at Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome.
Â
Butler, a member of the Pioneer Football League, was 6-5 last year. The Bulldogs made their first FCS playoff appearance in 2013.
Â
The addition of Butler gives NDSU six home games in 2019. The Bison will have four Missouri Valley Football Conference games and a non-conference game with North Dakota.
