NDSU Women’s Soccer Adds Six Incoming Student-Athletes on National Signing Day

FARGO, N.D. – New North Dakota State University head women's soccer coach Michael Regan announced Wednesday, Feb. 7, six student-athletes will join the Bison soccer program starting in the fall of 2018.

Aly Cole, a goalkeeper from Andover, Minn.; Claire Grazzini, a goalkeeper from Chaska, Minn.; Sydney Johnson, a forward from St. Michael, Minn.; DeAnna LeMire, a midfielder from Ham Lake, Minn.; Lauryn Roszak, a midfielder from Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; and Dani Stuber, a defender from Woodbury, Minn., will all play soccer and continue their education at NDSU.

"Today is an exciting day as we welcome six new student-athletes to the NDSU women's soccer program," Regan said. "I'd like to thank the previous coaching staff for their efforts in recruiting a talented group of student-athletes. I'm thrilled to have these six individuals join Bison Nation, and I'm really looking forward to helping them with their academic and soccer journeys at NDSU."

GK | Andover, Minn. (Andover HS)
High School:
Played soccer at Andover High School … Was a three-year letterwinner for Andover … 2017 Team Captain … Competed in the state tournament in 2016 and 2017 … Posted a 30-4-2 career record in goal … Also was a three-year letterwinner in basketball and played in the 2017 state tournament … Club: Played for the North Metro Venom where she was a four-year team captain … Personal: Daughter of Greg and Lisa Cole … Intends to major in mechanical engineering.

GK | Chaska, Minn. (Benilde-St. Margarets HS)

Played soccer at Benilde-St. Margarets High School … Was a four-year letterwinner … Her team won the Minnesota State Championship in 2015 and 2016 … Two-time all-conference honoree … 2016 all-tournament team selection … Also was a varsity lacrosse player … Club: Played for Minneapolis United U19 Premier, which won the Minnesota State Cup in 2016 and 2017 … Personal: Daughter of Greg and Maureen Grazzini … Intends to major in business administration.

Sydney Johnson

Played soccer at Buffalo High School … Was a five-year letterwinner … 2017 Team Captain … Three-time all-conference honoree … Five-time team offensive MVP … Academic All-Conference selection … Also ran track and competed in the 100m and 200m dashes … Was an Academic All-Conference honoree in track and field … Club: Played for Minnesota Thunder Academy ECNL U18 and the Maplebrook Soccer Association … Personal: Daughter of Wade and Dawn Johnson … Intends to major in special education.

DeAnna LeMire
MF | Ham Lake, Minn. (Blaine HS)

Played soccer at Blaine High School … Was a four-year letterwinner … Played in 67 games in her high school career … Her team qualified for the section championship four times and was a state participant … Also was a four-year letterwinner in hockey … Her hockey team was a two-time state participant and the state runner-up in 2017 … Club: Played for North Metro U19 Premier – three-time state champions … Personal: Daughter of Tom and Sherry LeMire … Plans to major in either communications or surgical nursing.

Lauryn Roszak
MF | Inver Grove Heights, Minn. (Eagan HS)

Played soccer at Eagan High School … Was a two-year letterwinner … Named to the 2017 All-State Team … Her team won the 2017 Minnesota State Championship and was the section runner-up in 2016 … Also was a two-year letterwinner in hockey … Club: Played for the Minnesota Thunder Academy U19 Premier and was a member of the 2017 Minnesota State Cup semifinalist team … Personal: Daughter of Tim and Karyn Roszak … Plans to major in exercise science.

Dani Stuber
D | Woodbury, Minn. (Woodbury HS)
High School:
Played soccer at Woodbury High School … Was a four-year letterwinner … Named all-conference in 2017 and all-conference honorable mention in 2016 … 2015 Rookie of the Year … Club: Played for the Minnesota Thunder Academy ECNL, which was a national playoff participant … Personal: Daughter of Steve and Patty Stuber.

North Dakota State went 8-11-0 overall in 2017, including a 7-2-0 record at home at the newly resurfaced and renovated Dacotah Field, and finished tied for second in The Summit League at 5-2-0.
