STANFORD, Calif. – North Dakota State junior thrower
Payton Otterdahl extended his NDSU all-time best in the discus, winning the Stanford Invitational title with a throw of 184-10 (56.33m) on Friday evening.
Otterdahl's new school record moved him up to No. 15 on the NCAA performance list in the event this season.

Tim Heikkila won his section of the 1500m at Stanford, running a personal-best 3:52.64 despite a slow start in a tactical race. Senior
Jake Leingang ran 14:37.59 in the 5000m to rank ninth in NDSU outdoor history in the event.
NDSU senior
Austin Schmidt placed third in the javelin with a throw of 217-5 (66.28m). Sophomore
Ben Klimpke took fourth in the invitational long jump at Stanford, leaping 23-07.25 (7.19m).
Junior
Jacob Richter finished fifth in the 400m dash, running 48.47 for the second-fastest outdoor 400m of his career.

Ryan Enerson clocked 14.88 in the 110m hurdles, tying for the second-best time of his career.
Senior
Jacob McBride and sophomore
Michael Keogan finished sixth and seventh, respectively in the collegiate hammer throw. McBride threw 190-0 (57.91m), and Keogan posted a mark of 186-6 (56.85m).
Brant Gilbertson ran 9:03.36 in his steeplechase opener, coming within five seconds of his PR from last year.
Senior
Brian Ferry led the Bison in the 400m hurdles, running the fourth-fastest time of his career at 54.69. Redshirt freshman
Connor Wendel registered a personal-best 54.79.
