STANFORD, Calif. – The North Dakota State women's track & field team began competition at the Stanford Invitational on Friday, with the Bison registering several strong performances.

Junior
Annika Rotvold recorded an impressive time of 4:24.44 to win her section of the 1500m at Stanford, moving up to fourth in NDSU history behind only All-Americans Erin Teschuk, Laura Hermanson and
Maddie Van Beek. Rotvold trimmed six seconds off her previous best in the event.

Senior
Alyssa Olin was the runner-up in the elite section of the javelin at the Stanford Invitational, throwing 176-11 (53.92m). Four of her six attempts traveled at least 176 feet. Â

Courtney Pasiowitz finished second in the invitational shot put, throwing a season-best 52-07.50 (16.04m) that ranks her among the top 20 in the nation this year.

NDSU had three other women over 48 feet in the shot put. Junior
Kelsey Laufenberg threw 48-10.25 (14.89m) for second place in the collegiate section at Stanford.
Shelby Gunnells threw 48-08.75 (14.85m) for fifth in the invitational section, and
Maggie Schwarzkopf registered a toss of 48-08.00 (14.83m) for sixth place.

The Bison placed three women in the top eight of the hammer throw, with
Maddy Nilles leading the way at 203-2 (61.92m). Sophomore
Amy Herrington was seventh with a throw of 188-6 (57.46m), and junior
Shelby Gunnells took eighth at 184-4 (56.18m).

Alexis Woods ran 55.07 in the 400m dash for ninth place, senior
Deidre Hahn clocked 57.05 for 21st, and freshman
Alyssa Lind finished in 57.47 for 28th place.

Katie Bostrom ranks ninth all-time at NDSU in the 3000m steeplechase after running 11:11.80 at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival on Friday.

The Bison will continue competition at both meets tomorrow.
