FARGO, N.D. – Senior thrower Bailey Retzlaff and sophomore distance runner Kelby Anderson broke school records to highlight the performances by the North Dakota State women's track & field team at the Thundering Herd Classic on Saturday.

Retzlaff extended her NDSU shot put record – established at the first meet of the year in early December – to 56-04.75 (17.19m), ranking No. 3 in the NCAA this year. Anderson took down Amy Andrushko's two-year-old NDSU record in the 1000m, winning the race in 2:51.17 to break the record by more than one second.

The Bison women swept the top eight places in the shot put at the meet, with Shelby Gunnells, Maggie Schwarzkopf, Kelsey Laufenberg, Maddy Nilles, Akealy Moton, Tasha Willing, and Amanda Anderson. Each of the top five NDSU women surpassed 48 feet.

The Bison women also swept the top three places and six of the top seven in the weight throw, led by champion Retzlaff at 65-00.00 (19.81m). Laufenberg was second, and sophomore Amy Herrington took third with a personal-best 58-04.75 (17.80m).

Behind Anderson in the 1000m, Bison sophomore Peyton Frolek finished second and now ranks seventh in NDSU history, running 2:54.36. Senior Annika Rotvold placed third and stands eighth all-time at NDSU in 2:55.65.

The Bison women swept the titles in all four jumps events.

Bison sophomore Daejha Moss won the high jump (5-04.25 / 1.63m) and placed second in the long jump (18-11.25 / 5.77m). Senior Bailey DeMar took the long jump title with an indoor personal-best mark of 19-00.50 (5.80m).

Freshman Jodi Lipp (St. Cloud, Minn.) won the triple jump crown, leaping 38-11.50 (11.87m) for the win.
