Football

Team captain in 1916 and one of the early standouts at NDSU. His playing career with NDSU was interrupted by military service (he served on the Mexican border in 1916 and did two years in World War I and three years in World War II). He later became the athletic director at Minnesota State-Moorhead (19 years) and coached both football and basketball at that school. He was the mayor of Moorhead and the athletic complex at Minnesota State-Moorhead is named after him.
