A three-sport performer at North Dakota State, she earned 11 letters in volleyball, basketball and softball over her career (1972-76). Lauf was named all-conference twice in volleyball and was captain of both the volleyball and softball teams her junior and senior years. She coached at various places after graduating in 1976, including Moorhead High School; North Dakota State University; Northwest Community College in Powell, Wyo.; Fargo North High School; Fargo South High School; Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn.; Minnesota State University-Moorhead; and Crookston (Minn.) High School.
