Chairman of the board of directors and chief of orthopedics at Fargo’s Dakota Clinic, Wenz was the team doctor for the NDSU football squad from 1963 to the early 1980s. He was renowned in the field of sports medicine. Wenz served in the Korean conflict where he participated in two invasions, six major campaigns, and was decorated with two Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart.
