Remarkable football player for the Bison in the mid-1950s, earning all-conference honors for three consecutive seasons from 1953 through 1955. In 1954, he was tabbed for Associated Press All-America honorable mention honors. So outstanding was Hill at an end position, that he was recognized as an all-league and All-America player despite three losing seasons in which the Bison won only four of 26 games, and went 0-9 in 1955. He piloted Sabre Jets for the Air Force for three years and was discharged as a captain. Prior to establishing his own landscaping firm in Minneapolis, Hill was employed by Texaco in New York City.
