    Came to Fargo via the freight rails back in the early 1930s and returned for his induction as a retired senior vice president of Cummins Engine Co. Inc. A three-season standout in football, basketball and track. Earned all-conference recognition in football in 1935 as a breakaway backfield whiz. He played all backfield positions. When the NDSU football team collided with the University of Minnesota in 1935 (Gophers won 26-6), the writeup labeled Reiners “The best man on the field...” Also earned all-league honors in basketball in 1935-36.
