A four-year starter at strong safety for North Dakota State. All-North Central Conference as a senior in 1974 when he was named the most valuable defensive back in the league. Set the school record for most unassisted tackles in a career (93). Co-captain of the 1974 Bison team that shared the NCC title. Successful football coach at Grand Forks (N.D.) Red River High School. His brother, Joe, and father, Sid, are also members of the Bison Athletic Hall of Fame.
