An All-North Central Conference football player for the Herd in 1965 when NDSU captured its first national championship. Outstanding blocker from his fullback slot while gaining 331 yards on 94 carries during that 11-0 season. A three-year letterman, he gained 424 yards in 70 attempts as a junior in helping the Bison to a 10-1 mark and a win in the Mineral Water Bowl, NDSU’s first postseason football endeavor. His touchdown run in the memorable 6-3 win over North Dakota was the difference as the Bison snapped a 12-game drought against the Sioux.
