Two-season standout in football and basketball for the Bison in in the mid-1930s. After a standout career at North Dakota State, he played pro football for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from 1935 to 1941. A native of Winnipeg, he was lauded as one of the Bombers' all-time greats and played on a Grey Cup championship team. Marquardt also played two years with the Winnipeg Toilers basketball club. Went to work for Hudson's Bay Company.
