Long Ball Lifts #2/3 Florida Past Bison

GAINESVILLE, Fla.--Aja Paculba went 2 for 3 with a pair of home runs and No.2/3-ranked Florida hit five homers overall as the Gators defeated North Dakota State 9-0 in the final game of the University of Florida Lipton Invitational played Sunday, March 6, before 432 fans in Pressly Stadium.

North Dakota State (7-13), which went 1-4 at the tournament, is scheduled to open Summit League play against UMKC (9-5) on March 12-13 in Kansas City.

Kelsey Bruder, Brittany Schutte and Megan Bush each hit home runs for the Gators, who jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back.

Stephanie Brombacher allowed just a lead-off double to Nicole Rivera in the game. Brombacher struck out five and issued no walks to improve to 11-0 on the season. Whitney Johnson and Randi Parks pitched for NDSU with Johnson picking up the loss.
