Seven NDSU Players on All-Summit League Baseball Teams

TULSA, Okla. - North Dakota State placed seven players on the All-Summit League baseball teams selected by a vote of the league's seven head coaches and announced Wednesday, May 23, at the league championship banquet.
Outfielder Tim Colwell and starting pitcher John Straka were NDSU's first two All-Summit League first team picks since joining the league. First baseman Nick Colwell, second baseman Wes Satzinger, third baseman Zach Wentz, outfielder Nick Anderson and relief pitcher Kyle Kingsley were second team.
Seven is the most all-conference players NDSU has had in one year in program history. The Bison had two All-Summit League picks in 2009 and five All-North Central Conference selections in 1996.
Tim Colwell, a sophomore from Shoreview, Minn., leads the league with a .367 batting average has a team- and Summit League-record nine triples which leads the nation, and leads NDSU with a school-record 83 hits, 58 runs scored and 12 stolen bases.
Straka, a junior from Chaska, Minn., has a 7-4 record and ranks fourth in the league with a 2.61 ERA. He leads the league with a school-record 103 1/3 innings pitched and is second with 89 strikeouts and seven victories. He was a second-team starting pitcher as a freshman in 2009.
Nick Colwell, a senior from Shoreview, Minn., is second in the league with a .355 batting average and 78 hits, leads the league with 18 doubles, and is fifth in the league with a team-high 43 runs batted in. He also is second in the league with a school-record 12 sac bunts.
Satzinger, a sophomore from Andover, Minn., ranks fifth in the league with 41 runs scored, has a .311 batting average with 14 doubles and 29 RBIs, and is second on the team with a .413 on-base percentage including 13 times hit by pitch. He is fielding .979 with 23 double plays and only five errors.
Wentz, a senior from Bismarck, N.D., is fifth in the league in hits with 69 and ranks eighth in hitting with a .324 batting average. He has 13 doubles, a team-high five home runs, and is eighth in the league with 40 RBIs. He was a second team starting pitcher in 2010.
Anderson, a senior from Boone, Iowa, ranks 10th in the league with a .320 batting average and 38 RBIs and is third among all league players with five triples.
Kingsley, a junior from Fargo, N.D., is second in the league with 23 appearances and has a 5-3 record with five saves and a 1.93 ERA. He has 30 strikeouts against only five walks in 37 1/3 innings.
No. 3 seed North Dakota State (38-18, 14-10) is scheduled to play No. 2 seed Oakland (24-29, 15-6) at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24, in the first round of the Summit League Championship presented by Currington Mortgage at J.L. Johnson Stadium in Tulsa.
