Box Score CEDAR FALLS, Iowa--No. 1-ranked and defending champion Alabama hit four home runs to power past North Dakota State University 10-0 on Sunday, Feb. 10, in the Ramada UNI Dome Softball Tournament.
North Dakota State (1-4) is scheduled to open against Memphis (1-4) at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, on the first day of the LSU Purple & Gold
The Crimson Tide (5-0) received 3-for-3 plate performances from Haylie McCleney, Kallie Case and Danae Hays to roll up 12 hits.
McCleney, who scored three times, led off the third inning with a home run. Kaila Hunt drilled a two-run shot to put Alabama ahead 4-0.
The Crimson Tide scored five times in the fifth inning to end the game. Hays hammered a two-run home run, while Keima Davis belted a three-run homer.
All-America pitcher Jackie Trainer (3-0) limited the Bison to four singles by Logan Moreland, Cheyenne Garcia, Presley Glaser and Jenna Isbel. Trainer struck out eight and walked one.
Whitney Johnson and Tabby Bayers pitched for NDSU with Johnson taking the loss. The pair combined to walk four and strike out two.
