Lawrence Alexander poured in a career-high 29 points, but the North Dakota State University men's basketball dropped a non-conference road game to the Montana Grizzlies, 69-57, on Sunday night at Dahlberg Arena.

Alexander made 11-of-20 shots and connected on 5-of-11 from three-point range to total 29 points. His previous career-best was 28 points in the Bison victory over Oklahoma in the 2014 NCAA Tournament. This was Alexander's fifth game this season with four or more three-pointers.

Jordan Gregory scored 20 points and Martin Breunig added 18 to lead Montana.

Dexter Werner tallied nine points and four rebounds for NDSU, while junior guard
Kory Brown had seven points, seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks.

NDSU (4-4 overall) shot 40 percent for the game. Montana (3-4 overall) made 47.1 percent of its shots and went 9-of-20 from beyond the arc.

The Grizzlies held a 35-21 advantage at halftime and led from start to finish. NDSU outscored Montana 36-34 in the second half, trimming a 17-point deficit to 10 at 54-44 with 5:52 to play before Montana ultimately closed out the victory.

The Bison will host the University of North Dakota on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. at Scheels Arena.
