TALLAHASSEE, Fla.--Southern Miss held off a late North Dakota State University rally for a 7-6 win and host Florida State no-hit the Bison 9-0 in five innings on Saturday, Feb. 15, during the second day of the Renegade Classic played at JoAnne Graf Field.

North Dakota State (4-4) is scheduled close out tournament play against the No. 12/13-ranked Seminoles (7-1) at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16.

Southern Miss (1-5) scored at least one run in the first four innings to jump out to a 7-2 lead. Mackenzie Sher hit a solo home run down the left field line in the first inning, while Selena Estrada belted a two-run home run to left center to get things started.

Estrada went 3 for 3 with two runs scored, two RBI to lead the Eagles, who also took advantage of two NDSU errors and three walks.

The Bison rallied with four runs in the top of the sixth inning. Amanda Grable and Maritza Lopez-Portillo were both hit by pitch with one out. Alex Sobrero reached on an infield single to plate the third run and fourth came home on Logan Moreland's fielder's choice.

The Seminoles did their scoring in the first two innings. Briana Hamilton's RBI single and Maddie O'Brien's RBI double highlighted a four-run first inning. Schinella's bases loaded double and Ellie Cooper's two-run single took care of things in the five-run second. Cooper finished 3 for 3 with two RBI and a run scored.
