NDSU is tied with Virginia for the nation's seventh-longest home court winning streak.

The Bison improve to 12-6 overall and 4-1 in The Summit League, regaining sole possession of first place in the league. NDSU has not lost at home since Nov. 18, 2013 – a 70-69 loss to Southern Miss. NDSU is 9-0 at home this season.

Western Illinois (7-10, 2-4 Summit) received 21 points from junior guard J.C. Fuller off the bench. The Bison limited WIU's starters to 11 combined points in the contest.

Lawrence Alexander topped NDSU with 17 points, and junior
Kory Brown scored 11 for the Bison. Freshman
Paul Miller chipped in 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting.

Dexter Werner recorded seven points, nine rebounds and two blocked shots. The Bison out-rebounded the Leathernecks, 41-27.

NDSU never trailed in the game. The Bison built a 24-11 advantage in the first 13 minutes and led 33-25 at halftime.

The Leathernecks cut their deficit to six points at 38-32 with 14:36 left, but NDSU rattled off a 14-2 run that made it 55-36 with just under eight minutes remaining, effectively sealing the victory. The Bison poured in 11 straight points, with Brown scoring the first six and Miller capping the run with a three-pointer.

NDSU goes on the road next week with games at IUPUI on Jan. 22 and Fort Wayne on Jan. 24.
