FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State University women's soccer team (7-5-0, 2-0-0 Summit League) posted a 1-0 shutout victory over the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles (5-5-2, 1-1-0 Summit League) on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 4, at Dacotah Field.

Junior forward Lauren Miller netted what turned out to be the game-winning goal for the Bison in the 19th-minute of the contest when she took control of freshman Britney Monteon's shot off the left post and fired it into the back of the net. It was Miller's team and Summit League-high ninth goal of the season and Monteon's team-high tying fifth assist of 2015.

Oral Roberts nearly equalized just before the end of the first-half on a shot from Lexi Jones, but NDSU senior goalkeeper Sierra Bonham made a jumping save to preserve the Bison advantage going into halftime.

The Golden Eagles almost leveled the match once again in the 75th-minute, but Kayla Keller's shot hit the post to keep NDSU in front.

For the match, the Bison outshot Oral Roberts, 14-11, and tallied a 3-2 edge in corner kicks taken.

Bonham improved to 7-5-0 in goal and picked up her fourth clean sheet of the year after going the full 90 minutes and allowing no goals while making six saves.

Kayla Keller led the ORU offense with three shots and two shots on goal.

Oral Roberts goalkeeper Maddie Rhodes took the loss after giving up the game-winning goal to fall to 3-2-1 on the season.

North Dakota State is scheduled to continue Summit League play on Friday, Oct. 9, at Denver. First kick from CIBER Field in Denver, Colo., is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT (8 p.m. CT). The game will be televised live on Altitude Sports 2.
