PDF Box ScorePhoto GalleryFARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State men's basketball team claimed a 57-48 victory over IUPUI on Thursday evening at Scheels Arena, maintaining its share of first place in The Summit League with two games remaining.

NDSU (19-8, 11-3 Summit) is tied with South Dakota State atop the league standings.

It was NDSU's 24th consecutive home victory – good enough for the seventh-longest active streak in the nation and the third-longest in league history. The Bison have now won six meetings in a row over IUPUI.

Senior guard
Lawrence Alexander led NDSU in scoring for the fifth straight game, tallying 17 points. Redshirt freshman
A.J. Jacobson poured in 16 points on 3-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc. Both Alexander and Jacobson pulled down six rebounds to lead the Bison.

NDSU sophomore
Carlin Dupree posted six points, five rebounds, a career-high five steals, and four assists.

Alexander set a new NDSU single-season record for three-pointers made with one tonight, passing Ross Manson who made 85 treys in the 1993-94 season.

NDSU trailed 10-2 nearly halfway through the first half, but the Bison battled back and used a 9-0 run to regain the lead at 17-13. NDSU held a 24-22 advantage at the half.

The Bison led the Jaguars 44-41 with 4:15 left in the game when NDSU got back-to-back buckets from Dupree and Alexander to push the lead to 48-41. A four-point play by IUPUI's Mason Archie cut the margin to 48-45 with 1:47 remaining, but NDSU drained 9-of-10 attempts at the free throw line in the final 95 seconds to ice the victory.

It was the sixth time this season that NDSU limited its opponent to 50 points or fewer.

Junior guard Marcellus Barksdale scored 15 points to top the IUPUI effort. The Jaguars fell to 9-18 overall and 5-8 in league play.

The Bison host Fort Wayne on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the final home game of the 2014-15 regular season.
