Kip Janvrin Open Meet Information
The North Dakota State men's track & field team will travel to Des Moines, Iowa, this weekend to compete in the Drake Relays on Friday, Apr. 24, and Saturday, Apr. 25, at Drake Stadium.
The Drake Relays will feature some of the nation's top track & field competition this weekend, as well as providing the Bison an opportunity to run relay events such as the 4x100m, 4x200m, 4x400m, 1600m medley, and the shuttle hurdle relay.
A group of Bison athletes will also compete at the Kip Janvrin Open hosted by Simpson College in nearby Indianola, Iowa, on Friday.
Matti Mortimore and Tyler Parker, ranked 10th and 12th in the NCAA, respectively, this season in the javelin, are scheduled to compete at 10 a.m. Friday morning along with four other Bison javelin throwers.
Other Bison competing in individual events at the Drake Relays will include: Parker McKittrick (110m hurdles), Brett Kelly (3,000m steeplechase), Brendan Skime (3,000m steeplechase), Payton Otterdahl (discus, shot put), Alex Renner (hammer throw, shot put), Brandt Berghuis (hammer throw, shot put), Trevor Berner (hammer throw), Adam Coykendall (javelin), Brock Larson (javelin), Austin Schmidt (javelin) and Quinn Baumann (javelin).
The NDSU men are ranked 10th in the Midwest Region in the latest USTFCCCA rankings. The Bison own seven league-leading marks, including the top performances this season in three of the four throwing events.
NDSU will return home to host the Lyle Hokanson Classic on May 1.
