Box Score (PDF)

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The North Dakota State University women's soccer team (0-1-0) dropped its 2015 regular season opener at Minnesota (1-0-0), 3-0, on Friday, Aug. 21, in front of a standing room only crowd of 1,221 at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium in Saint Paul.

NDSU is scheduled to travel to Madison, Wis., for a 1 p.m. match against No. 14 Wisconsin on Sunday, Aug. 23, to close out a two-match road-trip before returning to Fargo for the regular season home opener on Friday, Aug. 28, against St. Cloud State.

The Golden Gophers, who received votes in the NSCAA Preseason Poll, netted goals in the 24th, 29th and 49th minutes of the match while holding the Bison to just three shots to secure the shutout win.

North Dakota State senior goalkeeper Sierra Bonham made a match-high 13 saves – two shy of her career-high – but took the loss between the pipes to drop to 0-1-0 on the season.

Junior forward Lauren Miller tallied the only shot on frame for NDSU.

Forward Simone Kolander netted two of three goals for the Golden Gophers, while striker Sydney Squires tallied the third score for the home side.

Minnesota goalkeeper Tarah Hobbs posted the win in goal to move to 1-0-0 overall.
