VERMILLION, S.D. – The North Dakota State University women's basketball team fell at the University of South Dakota, 80-54, on Saturday, Jan. 30, in front of 1,645 spectators inside the DakotaDome.

Senior Marena Whittle led the Bison with 15 points and six rebounds.

NDSU shot 45 percent from the field, but just 20 percent from three-point range, and committed 26 turnovers which led to 30 South Dakota points. The Bison were also outrebounded in the contest, 33-21.

Summit League Preseason Player of the Year Nicole Seekamp led the Coyotes (17-5, 8-1 Summit League) with a game-high 17 points on 8-for-11 shooting from the field, while Caitlin Duffy snagged a team-high six rebounds.

The Yotes shot 48 percent from the field, including a 42 percent effort from beyond the arc, and dished out a game-best 20 assists.

North Dakota State is scheduled to travel to Tulsa, Okla., to face Oral Roberts in a Summit League game on Thursday, Feb. 4.
