PDF Box ScoreDENVER, Colo. – The North Dakota State men's basketball team lost 70-59 at Denver on Saturday evening, finishing the regular season with a record of 18-12 overall and 8-6 in Summit League play.
The Bison will be the No. 5 seed for the Summit League Tournament, opening against No. 4 seed IUPUI in the quarterfinals on Sunday, Mar. 6, at 6 p.m.
Senior
Kory Brown led the Bison with 20 points and six rebounds on 8-for-14 shooting. Sophomore
A.J. Jacobson scored 12 points, and
Dexter Werner added 11 off the bench for NDSU.
Denver (15-14 overall, 7-9 Summit) shot 52 percent from the floor, including a 10-for-17 effort from three-point range. C.J. Bobbitt led the Pioneers with 16 points.
NDSU sophomore guard
Paul Miller returned to action for the first time since Feb. 4 after missing six games with a knee injury. Freshman
Khy Kabellis also returned after sitting out of Thursday's game at South Dakota State.
The Bison were out-rebounded 27-19 in the game. NDSU led by five points at 34-29 just over one minute into the second half, and the Bison were ahead 49-48 after a pair of free throws by Werner with 7:07 remaining. Denver put together an 11-2 run over the next three minutes to go up 59-51.
