Box Score COLLEGE PARK, Md.--The North Dakota State University and UMass softball game Saturday, March 19, was suspended in the top of fourth inning because of rain at the Maryland Invitational. The game is scheduled to be resumed at 8 a.m. Central Time Sunday, March 20.
NDSU (16-11) games against Ball State scheduled for 2:45 p.m. CT on Saturday and Binghamton at 12:30 p.m. CT Sunday, March 20, have been cancelled.
The revised Maryland Invitational schedule:
8 a.m. - NDSU and UMass will resume game from Saturday.
10 a.m. - Boston U. vs. Ball State
1:30 p.m. - Binghamton vs. Boston U.
4 p.m. - Maryland vs. Binghamton
Action will resume in the top of the fourth inning with
Jackie Stifter at the plate with no outs.
Alyssa Reina opened the inning with an infield single and moved to second on a walk to
Julia Luciano before play was suspended.
UMass scored two runs in the first inning. Erin Stacevicz singled, moved to second on a sacrifice, and scored on Jenna Cozza's single and NDSU fielding error. Olivia Godin scored on a double steal.
North Dakota State cut the deficit to 2-1 in the top of the third inning.
Jenna Isbel singled with one out, moved to second on a walk, advanced to third on
Logan Moreland's single and scored on a wild pitch.
