DENVER – The University of Denver Pioneers netted two goals in the first-half and one in the second-half on their way to a 3-0 win over the North Dakota State University women's soccer team Sunday, Oct. 1, in a Summit League match played at DU Soccer Stadium.
Denver (5-7-1 overall, 1-1-0 Summit) took a 1-0 lead after Jessie Dancy netted a goal in the 30th-minute. Dancy made it 2-0 when she scored her second goal of the match off a Pioneer corner kick in the 37th-minute.
Hannah Bricker tallied Denver's third and final goal of the contest on a free kick in the 60th-minute.
Senior
Bailey Lervick led the Bison (3-9-0 overall, 1-1-0 Summit) offensively with one shot on goal, while
Mariah Haberle,
Brookelyn Dew and
Britney Monteon each compiled one shot.
NDSU goalkeeper
Monica Polgar (3-4-0) suffered the loss between the posts after making seven saves but allowing all three Pioneer goals.
For the match, Denver outshot North Dakota State, 22-4, and posted a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks taken.
North Dakota State is scheduled to host Oral Roberts Friday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m. at Dacotah Field.
