MACOMB, Ill. –
Jessica Jorgensen matched a career-high with 16 kills and added five blocks and led third set uprising as North Dakota State defeated Western Illinois 3-1 (25-19, 19-25, 25-17, 25-21) win in a Summit League match played Friday, Nov. 10, in Western Hall. With the victory the Bison clinched the No. 4 seed in the upcoming Summit League tournament Nov. 17-19 in Denver.

NDSU (17-8, 8-5 SL) is scheduled to close out the regular season at Omaha (10-16, 7-6 SL) at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12. The Mavericks defeated Oral Roberts 3-0 on Friday.

Western Illinois (8-19, 3-10 SL) had just taken set two 25-19 and built an 11-7 lead. However, the Bison rattled off 11 straight points to take an 18-11 lead before the Leathernecks scored again.

Jorgensen was in the middle of things, but received plenty of help from
Brianna Rasmusson,
Erika Gelzinyte,
Allie Mauch,
McKenzie Burke,
Emilee McGowan and
Mikaela Purnell to widen the margin.

Jorgensen finished the night by scoring the final three points of set four to short-circuit the Western Illinois rally.

The Bison outhit Western Illinois .137 to .094 as Gelzinyte connected for 15 kills and hit .433.
Brianna Rasmusson recorded her 14th double-double of the season with 42 assists and 14 digs.
Mikaela Purnell pocketed a match-high 30 digs. McGowan and Purnell each had three aces.

Shalyn Greenhaw led Western Illinois with 12 kills and 19 digs. Jaime Johnson chipped in 22 assists, while Emilee Dechant recorded a match-high seven blocks. Claire Grove came up with 21 digs.
