LOS ANGELES – The North Dakota State men's basketball team was locked in a battle with No. 10-ranked USC late in the second half before ultimately falling 75-65 on Monday night.

Redshirt freshman guard
Cameron Hunter poured in 24 points on 8-of-11 shooting to lead NDSU. Hunter connected on 4-of-5 attempts from beyond the arc.

The Bison led 56-51 with 9:28 remaining following back-to-back dunks by
Deng Geu. NDSU was within two at 62-60 in the final four minutes of the game before an 8-0 run by the Trojans decided the outcome.

USC shot 53 percent in the second half to come from behind and earn the victory. The Bison led for more than 20 minutes of the game, leading by as many as 10 points at 29-19 in the first half. USC shot 31 free throws in the contest, in comparison to nine for NDSU.

Tyson Ward scored seven points and matched his career-high with eight rebounds.
Jared Samuelson added nine points with three three-pointers.

USC's Bennie Boatright led all players with 28 points.

It was the sixth straight season the Bison played a top-10 opponent.

The Bison will return to action on Friday at Missouri State.
