ITTA BENA, Miss. – The North Dakota State University baseball team improved to 4-0 overall and completed a four-game sweep of Mississippi Valley State with a 7-4 victory over the Delta Devils Sunday, Feb. 19, at Magnolia Field.

Danny Palmiscno each tallied three hits in five at bats to lead the Bison at the plate, with all of Elsenpeter's hits being doubles.

Reed Pfannenstein earned his first victory of 2017 after allowing two earned runs on five hits with six strikeouts and just one walk in five innings of work. Reliever
Sean Terres tossed a scoreless ninth inning with four strikeouts and one walk to secure his first save of the season.
The Bison took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first after
Drew Fearing and Elsenpeter hit back-to-back doubles to lead off the game.
North Dakota State added two more runs in the third to increase its lead to 3-0 when
Carter Thompson scored on a passed ball and Palmiscno crossed home plate on
Logan Busch's RBI ground out.
NDSU continued to tack-on runs in the third, fourth and eighth innings.
Thompson drove in the first run of his collegiate career on a RBI ground out in the third, before Elsenpeter hit a RBI double and scored on a ground out from
Mason Pierzchalski in the fourth.
Petersen provided the final run of the game for the Bison when he hit his inaugural homer of 2017 in the eighth.
Ivan Garcia and Jackson Webb each collected a pair of hits to pace the Delta Devils (0-4) in the batter's box.
MVSU starter Kyle Colston suffered the loss on the mound after giving up three earned runs on five hits to fall to 0-1 on the season.
North Dakota State is scheduled to travel to Abilene, Texas, Feb. 24-26 for a three-game series at Abilene Christian University.
