No. 10 Arizona Defeats North Dakota State 2-1

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Dejah Mulipola hit a two-run home run in the first inning as host and No. 10/11-ranked Arizona squeezed past North Dakota State 2-1 on Sunday, Feb. 19, during the final day of the Wildcat Invitational in Hillenbrand Stadium. The Wildcats have opened the season with 10 straight wins.

NDSU (3-7) is scheduled to open against host South Carolina at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at the Gamecock Invitational in Columbia, S.C.

The teams combined for only nine hits and no errors in the old-fashioned pitcher's duel. North Dakota State's Jacquelyn Sertic (2-6) limited Arizona to five hits in going the distance. Sertic struck out five and walked three. The Wildcats' Danielle O'Toole (6-0) struck out seven, scattered four hits and issued now walks.

NDSU's Montana DeCamp led off the top of the fourth with a solo home run to cut the deficit to 2-1. Mulipola went 3 for 3 for Arizona.
