OMAHA, Neb. – The North Dakota State University women's basketball team suffered a 90-64 loss at Omaha Wednesday, Feb. 22, inside Baxter Arena.
With the loss, the Bison fall to 6-22 overall and 4-11 in Summit League play while UNO improves to 14-14 on the season and 7-8 in league action.
Because of Fort Wayne's loss at Western Illinois Wednesday, NDSU has clinched a spot in The Summit League Women's Basketball Championship in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Sophomore guard
Kennedy Childers finished one-point short of her career-high with 17 points on 7-of-15 shooting to lead NDSU. Freshman forward
Rylee Nudell also scored in double figures with 11 points, respectively. Senior forward
Emily Spier paced North Dakota State on the glass with six rebounds.
For the game, the Bison shot 40 percent from the field, but just 24 percent from three-point range.
Redshirt senior Michaela Dapprich netted a game-high 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting to pace the Mavs.
Omaha shot 54 percent from the floor and 52 percent from beyond the arc in the contest, and outrebounded the Bison, 35-32. UNO also outscored NDSU in the paint, 38-24, and off turnovers, 15-5.
North Dakota State wraps up the regular season Saturday, Feb. 25, at Oral Roberts. Tip-off from the Mabee Center in Tulsa, Okla., is slated for 12:30 p.m.
