FARGO, N.D. – Junior
A.J. Jacobson set new career highs with 26 points and 12 rebounds to lift the North Dakota State men's basketball team to an 82-65 win over South Dakota State at the Scheels Center on Wednesday night.

NDSU improved to 16-8 on the season and 8-3 in Summit League play. Leading by five with 17 minutes remaining in the game, the Bison rattled off a 14-0 run to put the Jackrabbits away.

It was Jacobson's first career double-double. Sophomore point guard
Khy Kabellis added 16 points, six rebounds and three assists for NDSU.

The Bison shot 52 percent for the game and limited the Jackrabbits to 37-percent shooting. Sophomore forward Mike Daum scored 26 points to lead South Dakota State.

NDSU led for more than 34 of the game's 40 minutes. The Bison held a 41-32 advantage at halftime, but SDSU cut the margin to five at 47-42 on a Daum three-pointer with 17:11 remaining.

NDSU scored 14 consecutive points over the next four minutes to go ahead 61-42. Five different Bison scored to piece together the 14-0 run, including five points from Jacobson and a trey by Kabellis. SDSU never cut the deficit to less than nine points the rest of the way.

NDSU has now won 11 of the last 12 games against SDSU in Fargo.

The Bison host Denver on Saturday at 2 p.m. to conclude a three-game homestand.
