FARGO, N.D. - A goal in the 55th minute by Omaha on Sunday afternoon at Dacotah Field gave the Mavericks a 1-0 win over the North Dakota State soccer team.
The first half was scoreless between the two teams, with the Bison holding an 8-4 advantage in shots. NDSU also had five corner kicks in the opening frame to just one for the Mavericks.
In the 55th minute, Bailey Cascio scored off an assist from Erinoelle Clifton for the only goal of the match. NDSU had chances in the second half, holding a 12-8 advantage in shots, but couldn't get one to find the back of the net.
Mariah Haberle led the Bison with eight shots, while
Hanna Norman had a career-high seven shots. Both Haberle and Norman each had two shots on goal. Haberle moved into seventh in school history with 69 shots this season.
Monica Polgar suffered the loss in the net, recording six saves. NDSU had a 20-12 advantage in shots, while both teams had seven shots on goal.
The Bison wrap up the regular season on Friday, as they travel to South Dakota. The match is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. in Vermillion, S.D.
