Omaha Holds Off NDSU 3-1

OMAHA, Neb. – Isabella Sade had a match-high 23 kills and hit .500 as Omaha held off North Dakota State 3-1 (19-25, 25-21, 27-25, 25-20) in a Summit League volleyball match played Sunday, Oct. 21, in Baxter Arena.
 
NDSU (5-16, 3-7 SL) is scheduled to host Oral Roberts (12-9, 7-2 SL) in the annual Pink Match at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, in the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse. The Golden Eagles played at South Dakota on Sunday.
 
North Dakota State came out firing, literally, with nine of its 12 service aces in taking the first set led by Alexis Bachmeier with four. Bachmeier finished with a career-high five aces, while Kaylee Hanger had three and Abbi Klos added a pair.
 
Omaha (12-9, 7-2 SL) came back behind Sade, Sadie Limback and Abby Bergsten. Sade and Limback came up with key attacks in the second and exhausting third set. Limback had 15 kills and Bergsten added 12. Sydney Case finished with 54 assists and 12 digs.
 
The Mavericks outhit NDSU .183 to .046, but the Bison held a 12-9 advantage in team blocks led by Bella Lien, who matched a career-high with eight including three solos. Abbi Klos collected a match-high 29 digs just two shy of her career best.
 
McKenzie Burke connected for a team-high 11 kills and added 11 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. Kalli Hegerle finished with 30 assists. Kaylee Hanger had 17 digs, while Alexis Bachmeier came up with 11.
