Alexis Bachmeier had 17 kills and 20 digs, while teammate
McKenzie Burke had 15 kills and 18 digs as North Dakota State fought off South Dakota State 3-1 (25-23, 26-28, 25-19, 25-19) in a Summit League volleyball match played Sunday, Oct. 28

NDSU (7-16, 5-7 SL) is scheduled to host Western Illinois at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, in the Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse.

North Dakota State rallied back from large deficits in 3 of 4 sets, splitting the first two and taking control of the match in the third. The Bison trailed 16-10 and 18-14 against NDSU before scoring 11 of the final 12 points in the third set.

Sierra Peterson's kill put South Dakota State (4-20, 1-10 SL) ahead 18-14. The Bison methodically came back to take and build the lead.
Bella Lien recorded a block,
Ally Murphy and Bachmeier each had kills and
Kalli Hegerle served an ace, along with taking advantage of miscues in the rally.

NDSU hit .278 overall including .385 in the final set.
Kalli Hegerle finished with 54 assists and 16, while
Allie Mauch and Murphy each had seven kills. Bachmeier's 20 digs led five in double-figures as
Abbi Klos had 17 and
Kaylee Hanger added 12 to join Burke and Hegerle.

SDSU was led by Makenzie Hennen's 16 kills, five blocks and 10 digs, while Crystal Burk claimed 13 kills and 16 digs. Mattison Munger and Maddie Fay combined for 51 assists, while Ellie Thein came up with a match-high 22 digs.
