SPOKANE, Wash. – The No. 1-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs exploded for a 102-60 win over the North Dakota State men's basketball team on Monday evening inside the McCarthey Athletic Center.

It was the second time in NDSU's Division I history that the Bison took on the No. 1 team in the country. NDSU also played at No. 1 Indiana on Nov. 12, 2012.

The Bison held a 19-18 lead nearly 10 minutes into the game after freshman
Jarius Cook knocked down a jumper. Gonzaga scored the next 19 straight points to go ahead 37-19 with less than five minutes left in the half.

The Bulldogs shot 72 percent in the first half to hold a 53-25 lead at the break.

Junior point guard
Vinnie Shahid scored a season-high 16 points to lead the Bison, and
Deng Geu and
Cameron Hunter both added 12 points for NDSU. The Bison grabbed a season-high 12 offensive rebounds in the game.

Gonzaga was led by 18 points apiece from Brandon Clarke and Rui Hachimura. The Bulldogs shot 64 percent for the game and 15-for-28 (54 percent) from three-point range. It was the highest opponent field goal percentage allowed by the Bison since Southern Miss shot 64.4 percent against NDSU on Dec. 3, 2014.
