CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Stony Brook used a late 7-0 run to beat the North Dakota State men's basketball team 64-57 in the championship game of the Islander Invitational on Sunday afternoon. The game had 14 lead changes.

The Bison fell to 4-2 on the season, while Stony Brook improved to 4-2.

Vinnie Shahid led the Bison with 16 points.
Rocky Kreuser posted his first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Stony Brook scored the game's first 10 points, leading 10-0 just over four minutes into the contest. The Bison stormed back to go up 26-21 with 2:30 left in the first half. NDSU led 28-27 at halftime.

NDSU was ahead 49-48 with six minutes left in the game, but a 7-0 run by Stony Brook put the Seawolves up 55-49 with four minutes remaining.

NDSU struggled shooting, making 34 percent overall and 8-of-30 (27 percent) from three-point range. Stony Brook made 9-of-21 (43 percent) from beyond the arc. Elijah Olaniyi scored 20 points for the Seawolves.

The Bison finished with a 39-37 rebounding advantage and committed only nine turnovers in the game. Sophomore
Tyree Eady had 11 points for NDSU.
