MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The North Dakota State men's basketball team played Marquette even through 32 minutes, but the Golden Eagles ultimately pulled away late for an 82-68 victory on Friday night at Fiserv Forum.

NCAA scoring leader Markus Howard scored 32 points for Marquette, shooting 10-for-24.

Tyson Ward finished with a season-high 25 points and nine rebounds to lead NDSU.

NDSU trailed 38-36 at halftime but took a lead in the first minute of the second half on a
Vinnie Shahid three-pointer. Marquette led 53-51 with just over 13 minutes remaining before pushing the margin to seven at 59-52.

NDSU answered with back-to-back buckets from
Rocky Kreuser and
Tyree Eady, and the Bison trailed by only three at 63-60 after a dunk by Ward.

Marquette put together a 9-0 run over the next four minutes as the Bison went cold. Neither team led by more than eight points until the final six minutes of the game.

The Bison shot 10-for-25 (40 percent) from three-point range. Kreuser had 11 points, five rebounds, and three assists.

Marquette improved to 9-2 on the season, while NDSU fell to 8-5.
