FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State men's basketball team raced out to a 9-0 lead and never trailed on Thursday night, claiming an 85-73 victory over Oral Roberts. It was the fifth consecutive win for the Bison – NDSU's first five-game winning streak since the 2014-15 season.

The Bison (14-12 overall, 8-4 Summit League) exploded out of the gates, making eight three-pointers in the game's first eight minutes to go ahead 24-14.

NDSU finished with 15 three-pointers in the game, coming up one shy of the school record of 16.

The Bison shot 55 percent overall – the third time in the past four games NDSU was above 53 percent – and committed only six turnovers in the contest.

Vinnie Shahid led the Bison with 22 points and five assists. Juniors
Jared Samuelson and
Tyson Ward both scored 18 points, with Samuelson draining six three-pointers, and Ward leading NDSU with eight rebounds.

NDSU led 46-38 at halftime. Oral Roberts cut the margin to three points on four different occasions in the second half. Leading 73-70 with four minutes remaining, Samuelson drilled threes on back-to-back possessions to seal the victory.
