LONG BEACH, Calif. – North Dakota State sophomore thrower Alex Talley launched the hammer 210-7 (64.18m) at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate on Thursday afternoon to move up to fifth in NDSU history in the event.
Talley's throw was a personal-best by more than six feet, and it ranks him 34th in the NCAA this season.
Bison sophomore Jacob Slate also threw a personal-best 205-10 (62.75m) in the hammer at Long Beach State, ranking eighth all-time at NDSU.
Redshirt freshman Brandon Lewis placed second in the long jump, leaping 23-08.00 (7.21m). Sophomore Marcus Walton was seventh at 22-07.00 (6.88m).
The Bison men finished 3-5-6-7 in the 400m dash with Jacob Richter third in 48.28, Jacob Rodin fifth in 48.78, J.T. Butler sixth in 48.90, and Cody Roder seventh in 49.18.
Bison senior Kelle'Mon Hinton took third in the triple jump with a mark of 47-06.50 (14.49m).
Sophomore Alex Brosseau ran the second-fastest 200m dash of his career – 21.87 into a headwind.
At the Mt. SAC Relays, senior Camron Roehl ran the second-fastest 3000m steeplechase time of his career, finishing in 9:09.47.
Senior Ryan Enerson cleared a career-best 15-05.00 (4.70m) in the decathlon pole vault at the Bryan Clay Invitational Thursday, and Bison senior Daniel Asa cleared a career-best 15-01.00 (4.60m).
