Prior to his season at St. Cloud State, Shahidi played at Kirkwood Community College from 2014-2017 and South Carolina-Upstate in 2018. The Ames, Iowa native led the team in doubles, while starting 41 of 51 games for South Carolina-Upstate. Coming out of high school, Shahidi was a Top 1,000 player in Perfect Game's class of 2014 as a four-year letterwinner at Ames High School.
