The Bison led 61-58 following a free throw by freshman Dezmond McKinney with 3:57 remaining, but the Jayhawks scored the final seven points of the contest. Five of Kansas's final seven points came at the free throw line.
Aside from ties at 51-51 and 58-58, NDSU led from 17:52 until 1:20 remaining in the game.

Challenging Stretch: With games at No. 11 Creighton and No. 7 Kansas in a six-day span, the Bison played back-to-back nationally ranked opponents for the first time since opening the 2014-15 season at No. 10 Texas and No. 25 Iowa on Nov. 14-17, 2014.

Slim Margin: The 11-point final margin at Creighton on Nov. 29 was NDSU's closest against a nationally ranked opponent since falling 75-65 at No. 10/11 USC on Nov. 13, 2017. The Bison then lost by just four points at No. 7 Kansas six days later.

Half-Dozen Scorers: Six different Bison players are averaging between 6.8 and 11.0 points per game this season.

New Career-Highs: Junior Jaxon Knotek scored a career-high 16 points at Nebraska on Nov. 28, and sophomore Maleeck Harden-Hayes scored a career-high 11 points at Creighton on Nov. 29.

On The Glass: The Bison posted a significant +8.3 rebounding margin in their first three games of the season. Both Sam Griesel and Tyree Eady are averaging at least 7.5 rebounds per game.

Second Chance Opportunities: NDSU's 22 offensive rebounds at Nebraska on Nov. 28 were its most against a Division I opponent since 2010. The Bison converted those boards into 27 second-chance points vs. the Huskers.

Back for More: The Bison finished 25-8 overall and went 13-3 in The Summit League last season, winning the Summit League Tournament with an 89-53 victory over North Dakota in the championship game on March 10.

Continued Success: Head coach David Richman has led the Bison to a mark of 121-75 through six seasons at the helm of the program. NDSU has claimed two Summit League regular season titles, three Summit League Tournament titles, and three NCAA Tournament berths in his six seasons.
The Bison are 12-3 in the Summit League Tournament under Richman.

Title Talk: NDSU has won five Summit League Tournament crowns in 12 seasons as a full member of the league -- 2009, 2014, 2015, 2019 and 2020.
