FARGO, N.D. – Senior
Tyson Ward finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds and six assists to lift the North Dakota State men's basketball team to an 80-70 win over Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday night inside the Scheels Center.

NDSU improved to 19-7 overall and remained tied for first place in The Summit League at 10-2. The six-game winning streak is the longest for the Bison since winning 10 in a row at the end of the 2013-14 season.

Ward recorded his fourth double-double of the season and the 13th of his career. He posted a season-high six assists for the fourth time this year.

Rocky Kreuser had 13 points, six boards and three blocks.

NDSU committed only eight turnovers in the game and made 22-of-25 (88 percent) at the free throw line. The Bison won the rebounding battle, 39-29.

The Bison never trailed in the contest and led by as many as 18 in the second half. The Mastodons' deficit was two points at 50-48 with 13:45 to play, but NDSU responded with a 12-0 run to put the game out of reach.

The Bison are now 14-3 in their last 17 games, dating back to the victory over East Tennessee State on Dec. 7.

NDSU plays twice on the road next week – at South Dakota on Wednesday, Feb. 19, and at North Dakota on Saturday, Feb. 22.
