GAINESVILLE, Fla. – No. 8/11-ranked Florida scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to edge North Dakota State 1-0, while the Bison jumped on Florida A&M early in a 6-0 victory to give head coach
Darren Mueller his 650th career win during the second day of the Florida Bubly Invitational at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 15.

NDSU (3-5) concludes the tournament with Longwood (3-4) at 8 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 16 in Gainesville.

Florida (9-1) received a lead-off single from Jade Caraway to open the bottom of the seventh. Caraway moved to second on a sacrifice bunt and scored on Hannah Adams two-out RBI single.

North Dakota State starter
Paige Vargas (2-2) kept the Gators off-balance for most of the contest. Vargas scattered five hits, walked three and struck out one. Natalie Lugo (4-1) picked up the win for Florida. She struck out seven, allowed two hits and walked one on 84 pitches.

NDSU threatened several times.
Nicole Licea led off the third inning with a double and moved to third on
Avery Wysong's sacrifice bunt.
Cara Beatty had a two-out single in the fourth inning.

North Dakota State scored four runs in the first inning to jump on Florida A&M (0-8) early.
Madyson Camacho scored on an error,
Sam Koehn delivered a sacrifice fly,
Lauren Reimers produced a RBI ground out and
Kaylee Moore had a run-scoring single.

The Bison tacked on a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth to extend the lead to 6-0.
Montana DeCamp scored on an error and Reimers had a RBI single.

Stephanie Soriano led the Bison with a 3 for 4 effort at the plate, while Reimers finished with two hits and two RBI.

Mac Schulz (1-1) went the distance to pick up first win of the season. Schulz gave up eight hits, struck out four and walked one. Â Brandice Boatwright and Nadia Zenteno pitched for the Rattlers with Boatwright taking the loss.

The Florida A&M win was No. 650 for NDSU head coach
Darren Mueller, who has a 650-355 record in his 19th season. He has led the Bison to 10 Summit League tournament championships to advance to NCAA regional play and eight Summit League regular season titles.
