FRESNO, Calif. – North Dakota State lost 4-1 to UC Davis and 8-7 to No. 25-ranked and host Fresno State at the Bulldog Classic at Margie Wright Diamond on Saturday, March 7.

NDSU (7-15) closes out tournament play against East Carolina (13-9) at 11 a.m. Central Time on Sunday, March 8.

UC Davis scored four times in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally past the Bison.

Cara Beatty hit her second home run of the season in the first inning.

Mac Schulz pitched for NDSU with O'Byrne taking the loss.

Megan Bower went 2 for 3 with a double and RBI to lead the Aggies (15-11). Katie Kibby (7-4) went the distance to pick up the win for UC Davis. Kibby allowed four hits, struck out three and walked two.

Fresno State (20-4) scored six runs over the final two innings including the game-winner in the bottom of the seventh. Kaitlyn Jennings went 3 for 5 with two RBI and a double, while Hayleigh Galvan followed at 3 for 4 with a home run, double and RBI. McKenzie Wilson added a 2 for 3 effort with two RBI and a home run.

Sam Koehn contributed two RBI.

Paige Vargas (4-8) pitched with Vargas taking the loss.
