FARGO, N.D. – Five Bison reached double figures in the scoring column as NDSU wrapped up non-conference play with a win over Jamestown, 82-36, on Sunday afternoon at Scheels Center.
Ryan Cobbins set the pace with her second double-double of the season with 11 points and season-high 11 rebounds.
Heaven Hamling notched her sixth straight double figure scoring performance with a game-high 14 points on 4-of-9 shooting from three.
Emily Dietz,
Kylie Strop and
Sophie Olson, who made her Bison debut, also contributed 10 points each.
NDSU (4-6) shot 41.5 percent (27-65) from the field and 35.7 percent (10-28) from three. The Bison snatched a season-high 50 rebounds with 11 different players hauling in at least one. NDSU disrupted the Jamestown (10-4, 4-3 GPAC) offense creating 15 steals with
Reneya Hopkins generating a game-high and career-best four.
Jamestown began the contest building a four-point edge, 7-3, by the 6:12 mark. NDSU answered right back closing the quarter with nine unanswered points, including five from
Kadie Deaton to open up a 19-11 lead after the first frame. The Bison didn't look back from there keeping their advantage in double figures the rest of the way to secure the 82-36 win.
NDSU will open Summit League play at North Dakota (6-5) on Wednesday night. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. at Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.
