GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The North Dakota State volleyball team stormed to a 25-7 victory in the opening set, then rolled to a 3-0 sweep of North Dakota on Saturday night to close out the delayed 2020-21 season. It was NDSU's sixth straight win over UND in volleyball, including three consecutive sweeps.

NDSU finished the season 10-8 overall and 8-8 in Summit League play, taking fifth in the league standings. Due to the reduced field size for the Summit League Tournament this spring, the Bison will not advance to the league tourney.

Ali Hinze registered 12 kills and 16 digs for a double-double. Senior
Bella Lien recorded 10 kills and five blocks.
Taylor Quan and
Kaylee Hanger both tallied 13 digs for NDSU.

The Bison were remarkably dominant in the first set, hitting .500 compared to -.071 for the Fighting Hawks. The second set was tied at 21-21 before NDSU rattled off a 4-1 run with a kill by
Allie Mauch, an ace by Quan, and a block and a kill from Lien, winning the set, 25-22.

The Bison raced out to a 7-1 lead in the third and continued to pull away, claiming the set 25-13.

NDSU stifled UND all night, holding the Fighting Hawks to a negative attack percentage at -.025 for the match.
