DENVER, Colo. - A goal in the 63rd minute was the difference Friday night, as Denver beat the North Dakota State soccer team 1-0 at the Diane Wendt Sports Complex. The two teams entered the match as the top two in the Summit League standings.
The loss snapped a five-match winning streak for the Bison, as they fell to 5-2 on the year. The Pioneers improved to 7-1 overall and 7-0 in the Summit League. The two teams will face each other again on Sunday, with kickoff set for 2 p.m. (central).
A pass from Natalie Beckman led to the goal by Sami Feller in the 63rd minute for Denver.
The Pioneers had a 14-1 advantage in shots, including 8-0 in shots on goal.
Kelsey Kallio had the lone shot for the Bison.
Aly Cole registered a career-high seven saves in the net.
