SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The North Dakota State women's basketball team stumbled against Toledo, 73-58, on Saturday afternoon at the San Diego Classic.

After NDSU (2-4) opened up a 30-24 edge at the intermission, Toledo (3-2) battled back in the third quarter with a 7-0 run spanning just over two minutes to steal the lead, 36-35, after Quinesha Lockett connected on a layup. The Rockets led after three quarters of play, 46-42.

Toledo, who entered the week No. 6 in the College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 Poll, continued to apply pressure into fourth after beginning the quarter with 11 straight points to stretch its lead to 57-42 with 7:35 to play. The Bison made one final surge constructing an 8-2 run of their own with two triples from Heaven Hamling to cut the edge to eight, 61-53, with 3:55 remaining. However, NDSU couldn't cut the deficit down any further and dropped the contest, 73-58.
